WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?The UX Team’s mission is to discover and define the safest and most engaging user experiences in the autonomous driving space. In addition, our team is looking at supporting Toyota’s Woven City initiative to test, create and simulate the next generation of human habitation.
As part of the UX Engineering team, you will work closely with designers and fellow engineers to develop tools (Unity custom editor tools, CLI, web services) and enhance Unity projects to meet a variety of needs in UX. You will be creating tools not only for TRI-AD’s UX team, but also for other teams within Toyota and eventually users outside of Toyota. The team is very new, so you would have opportunity and responsibility to define TRI-AD’s Unity and 3D workflows.
We are looking for engineers who are passionate about creating beautiful software through Unity supported by beautiful code. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Architect, develop and maintain multiple Unity projects to support development of UX within the vehicle and internet of things spaces
  • Support tools that interface with Unity projects, including command line applications and web servers
  • Defining best practices and standards for Unity and 3D development within TRI-AD
  • Develop an asset pipeline for multiple Unity projects
  • Integrate Unity tool with variety of non-Unity services

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ years of Unity development
  • 2+ years experience developing in another programming language/environment (Python, Javascript, Rust, C/C++ for example, though any others would fulfill this qualification)
  • Familiarity with modern development tools and cloud infrastructure (containerization, CI/CD, AWS, etc.)
  • Excellent communication, people engagement skills and a fun sense of humor 
  • Excellent user-centric software design skills (experience with requirements gathering, empathetic design, user testing and flexible coding practices for quickly responding to customer needs)
