The Product Manager is responsible for directing and overseeing all stages of the product life cycle, which include product strategy, product development, and product marketing. The Product Manager is assigned products may require development as new products or enhancement for existing products. 

How you will make an impact:

  • Captures and articulates customer and industry needs and translates them into product requirements.
  • Identifies, leads, and implements process or product improvements that contribute to margin expansion and productivity gains for the organization.
  • Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams across the company to identify, evaluate, test, and develop competitive dental coverage strategies and products that resonate with customers and drive profitable growth for the company.
  • Leads new product development for the assigned line of business from inception through implementation and manages the entire product lifecycle.
  • Presents new product concepts and gains approval of concepts from product governance.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams across the company to identify, evaluate, test, and develop an ongoing stream of dental coverage products that resonate with customers and drive profitable growth for the company and serves as an interface between Customers and Engineering.
  • Works with the Marketing Communications team to develop and implement a go-to-market plan and marketing strategy, working with all operational team departments to execute.
  • Develops detailed product briefs, product and business requirement documents, datasheet content, and customer presentations.
  • Interfaces with enterprise-wide cross-functional teams including actuarial, underwriting, regulatory, sales, business development, engineering, operations, IT, and marketing teams.
  • Tracks market, business status and revenue, and competitors and delivers input to the organization.
  • Leads analysis on product features, priorities, the value proposition of products based on competitive analysis, customer needs, and market segmentation to drive the new product development tollgate process and product launch.
  • Assess the impact of required regulatory, product, and rate changes and coordinate with internal teams to ensure product portfolios and associated forms and documents are properly maintained.
  • Prepares reports and presentations on project results and makes recommendations to management.
  • Gathers market data and intelligence to make product price and scope recommendations.

What we look for:

  • Has prior experience with a Claims life cycle within a health plan.
  • Has experience engaging with clinical leaders and staff members in refining healthcare and technology improvement processes and tools
  • Stays up to date on Healthcare Information Technology concepts, trends and industry changes, particularly those related to the Claims Processing units.
  • Driven, results-oriented individual, focused on execution in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to capture and articulate customer problems and translate those into product requirements.
  • Broad strategic thinking skills and ability to manage information from multiple sources to synthesize effective solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams to successful product delivery.
  • Demonstrated success in managing relationships with cross-functional teams and/or customers, particularly in difficult or challenging situations.
  • Excellent communications capability for written, verbal, and presentation/collateral mediums.
  • Ability to work comfortably with all levels of staff, including C-Suite.
  • Ability and desire to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced, fast-growth environment and handle multiple projects and tasks daily while ensuring the quality of work output
  • 7 + years of relevant product management experience in insurance or consumer goods markets.
  • 4+ years of experience with segmentation, positioning, pricing, project management, and new product development practices.
  • Medical Device, Dental Equipment, Consumer Products, Health Care, or insurance product management background preferred.
  • BA/BS or equivalent practical experience, master’s degree preferred.
  • Product or Project Management training a plus.
  • A strong track record of project delivery for large, cross-functional projects.
