UX Lab is the incubation design team within Amazon's Device Design Group. Our mandate is to investigate, create, and share experiences that flow out to Amazon product teams. We’re a think / make environment, driven to answer why and how customers experience products or services. Working with Amazon business and technology partners, we use design and prototyping to guide early product development, bring greater clarity to engineering goals, and develop a customer-centric point of view.

We are looking for an innovative, self-motivated Product Manager with a passion for using technology to solve problems for people. As a Product Manager within UX Lab, you’ll be responsible for the rapid development of new ideas throughout the incubation process. You’ll help drive the vision, business potential, prioritization, and delivery of new product ideas based on a combination of customer needs, market trends, BI data, and technology advancements. You will collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary team of designers, researchers, engineers, and program managers to document and communicate new product concepts to senior leadership, engineering, and business partners.

You are a leader who thrives in ambiguity, identifies opportunities and moves fast to capture them, and has an unrelenting perseverance. You will be expected to operate both strategically and tactically, working closely with colleagues across Amazon, diving deep in data to uncover customer insights, and thinking big to drive new opportunities.

This role is based in San Francisco, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop detailed, crisp business requirements and user stories that can be used to create product specifications and tell the story of new product concepts.
· Define business model, strategy, roadmaps, and resource requirements for new products and services by partnering with product teams across Amazon.
· Combine research with internal and external data to build a robust business plan that can be presented along with user insights and prototypes to both partner teams and senior leadership.
· Define methodologies and tools to vet presented and developed ideas more quickly for overall market fit and potential; prioritize those that make it through that filter; and optimize how lab resources are used as we learn more and go through each stage of development.
· Assess and optimize the performance of new and existing features by actively participating in multiple forms of user research, analyzing BI data, and assessing performance metrics.
· Work alongside designers, engineers, and other product managers throughout all stages of the product development lifecycle.
· Help structure and facilitate ideation sessions and workshops with internal teams.
· Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team's ability to meet strategic, financial, and technical goals.
· Present product concepts to multiple teams and senior leadership for review and feedback.

Basic Qualifications


· Bachelor's Degree
· 5+ years of experience in product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology
· Experience with end to end product delivery
· Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
· Experience overseeing roadmap strategy and definition
· 5+ years of professional work experience which includes a combination of starting and leading new businesses or initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

· An MBA or other advanced degree.
· Demonstrated product leadership ability, from envisioning to launching and continuous improvement.
· Prior experience with a wide range of consumer electronics, connected devices, and related software and services.
· Demonstrated ability to effectively use internal and external data and tools to make effective business decisions.
· A deep empathy for the customer's experience, and the ability to translate it into new features, products, and businesses.
· Excellent communication, business writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to deal with a high degree of ambiguity and to multitask in an fast-paced environment.
