Biossance is looking for a hands-on Product Manager to join the Digital + Technology team that manages e-commerce site development and enhancement, as well as the technology and back office infrastructure that drives multiple business systems for the Biossance brand. This business-critical position will help develop, scale, and support an Integration-Platform-as-a-Service (iPaas) infrastructure, as well as the on-going enhancement of Biossance.com. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and willing to roll up their sleeves, can provide strategic insight and analysis, and will contribute by driving initiatives including iterative infrastructure platform implementations and enhancements, data integrations, and functional site enhancements. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide product development leadership through smart-decision making, thorough analysis, and strong planning and oversight
  • Execute short- and long-term product launches and improvements to support bringing infrastructure and digital platforms to their full potential
  • Analyze infrastructure and site functionality and identify potential opportunities for enhancements
  • Translate product strategy and work cross-functionally to write detailed requirements and use cases for new products/features, enhancements, and other opportunities to ensure stability of our infrastructure and to accelerate growth
  • Analyze data to unearth issues and propose enhancements and communicate product vision to various stakeholders in support of E-commerce team 
  • Work collaboratively with internal partners and external vendors to drive product launches and enhancements
  • Oversee and drive platform evaluations, as needed
  • Collaborate with project owners on scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact
  • Effectively communicate requirements to engineers/developers, and ensure they are being met
  • Assess and validate prototypes and proofs-of-concept
  • Own all internal sprint planning and resource allocation of technical team 
  • Work closely with engineering teams to deliver with quick time-to-market and optimal resources
  • Lead QA and troubleshooting efforts
  • Identify risks and pro-actively prepare risk mitigation plans
  • Partner with other teams to help scale usage of key strategic features in accordance with best practices
  • Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, and in partnership with business owners, identify and fill product gaps and support the generation of new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth
  • Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners
  • Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience managing software and/or functional e-commerce site enhancement product development or comparable experience
  • Proven work experience in product management or as an associate product manager
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
  • Familiarity with Shopify or tother e-commerce platforms
  • Solid understanding of digital technology and basic UX principles
  • Motivated self-starter who can manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Ability to analyze data, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with software developers, business users, cross-functional partners and core 3rd party partners
  • Ability to influence and work collaboratively with development teams is especially important
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with website developers, business users, and cross-functional partners
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • MS/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred
  • Experience with Agile Scrum, project tasking tools (i.e. JIRA, Asana)
  • Experience with SQL, DOMO, SFMC, is a plus.
  • Experience working with remote teams or team members a plus
