This position requires an experienced automobile interior focused product professional with a proven track record of excellence in shipping features related to the interior components. This role focuses on delivering a holistic, synergistic physical and digital experience to customers. The candidate knows how to capture customer needs, glean relevant insights, prioritize features, manage internal stakeholders, and drive software/hardware feature execution across the organization.

The Role

  • Develop and manage the driver product roadmap to illustrate cutting edge, in-vehicle experiences with a focus on interior components
  • Be the voice of the customer by identifying and highlighting key pain points. Prioritize customer needs over competitive benchmarks and internal stakeholder requirements
  • Separate the signal from the noise. Capture and document stellar requirements from the market and internal stakeholders. Leverage analytical frameworks to ruthlessly prioritize features
  • Partner with UX designers , industrial designers and interior designers to perform user research, benchmarking, usability testing, ergonomic studies, UX wireframe development, UI spec development, rapid prototyping, and spec development
  • Collaborate with packaging engineers to
  • Use agile principles to write user stories. Plan and drive the software development of features
  • Manage feature releases using best practices for continuous integration and deployment
  • Lead product launch co-ordination and communication between partner and internal marketing teams
  • Partner with QA and vehicle integration teams to test end-to-end functionality for owned features 

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a feature owner or product manager focused on interior components including but not limited to steering wheel, stalks, IP, switches, ambient lighting and seats
  • A minimum of 1 complete product development life cycle for driving features
  • Lead development of automotive hardware and software features over interior buttons, switches, functional lights, aesthetic lights, steering wheel and stalks
  • Experience bringing integrated software/hardware products from the early development phase to production
  • Experience working with Systems Engineering across cross-functional SW and Electronics teams
  • Experience with the inclusion of Functional Safety and Homologation requirements across markets
  • Experience with test and build aspects of software development
  • BS minimum in an engineering discipline (computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or similar)
