A key focus of that mission is to empower the 465,000+ monthly active artists using Spotify for Artists with self-serve marketing tools.
To set us up for the next stage of growth, we are investing in building an artist ad platform that enables artists to understand their Spotify audience and reach them directly with native on platform marketing tools.
We are looking for a Product Manager to lead a team focused on building the audience platform that will power our promotional tools business. For an artist team, building a sustainable audience on Spotify requires the ability to reach the right listeners to grow and deepen engagement with your music. At Spotify, our listening and behavioral data uniquely positions us to help artists do this.
In this role, you will work with a cross-functional team of Engineers and Data Scientists to define the roadmap for our artist audience targeting capabilities & infrastructure, building the data engine that powers our marketing tools suite. You’ll collaborate with data and ML engineers to build heuristics and models that help artists understand their audience and achieve their goals by reaching the right listeners. You’ll also collaborate with other Product Managers in the marketing tools space to ensure the audience platform offers the right capabilities to unlock new customer-facing marketing features. You will serve as a skilled translator between business needs and tech investments, ensuring the platform iteratively unlocks business value.

What you'll do

  • Define the roadmap for audience data capabilities & infrastructure by weighing internal customer needs, business goals, and development costs & technical debt
  • Work closely with other marketing tools PMs to understand their feature plans as a key input to the roadmap
  • Act as a translator to identify how customer-facing features manifest as platform capability requirements 
  • Manage the product backlog and prioritize roadmap into Agile sprints
  • Define business KPIs & success metrics that measure the contributions of the platform & inform investment levels for new capabilities
  • Contribute a genuine passion and enthusiasm for your products and mission, and for solving both internal and external customer needs
  • Demonstrate and help instill platform thinking and user-focused development practices across our teams
  • Partner with development teams to deliver with speed and quality

Who you are

  • You have 2+ years working as a Product Manager in high-performing, cross-functional teams that have shipped platform products at scale
  • Have a track record of building and setting vision for platform products, ideally within the marketing technology space
  • Have a genuine interest in solving problems and building products for internal customers, but can translate investments back to business KPIs and external customer impact
  • Enjoy working in a technical & data-centric product context, helping to translate customer-facing feature needs into technical capabilities and platform investments
  • Ideally have experience working with ML components; knows how to articulate problems and set success criteria for ML investments
  • Are highly collaborative and thrive in working within cross-functional teams
  • Love to break down sophisticated problems into manageable goals and find simple solutions to meet diverse needs
  • Can influence and partner effectively across all levels of an organization, and regularly use these skills to improve the work between teams
  • Comfortable with prioritizing and managing trade-offs with competing requests from internal teams
  • Experience in crafting platform product requirements and communicating to engineers
  • Skilled in product management process and communication; knows how to utilize specs, process flow visualizations and roadmaps to build shared understanding of phasing and requirements
