Who we are: AuthX. Our team owns Amazon's account creation and sign-in experiences. If you want to impact a lot of customers, this is the team for you.
· In order to shop, stream, or consume any of Amazon’s products and offerings, every person needs to go through the experience of creating an account on Amazon. If there’s friction in the process, we risk losing that new customer. If it’s delightful and intuitive, then we gift those new customers with an exceptional first impression of Amazon.
· We are the doorway to Amazon for every existing customer. Every customer needs to sign into their account in order to have meaningful experiences with Amazon, whether that be streaming Jack Ryan, purchasing a pasta maker, or accessing their Seller account. How can we innovate on the experience of authenticating and make it as frictionless as possible?
What you will do: This is a newly chartered team and we are looking for an intelligent and driven Sr Product Manager to establish the strategy and roadmap for this space and for our customers. You should walk the store as a customer, pour through customer research and past experimentation data, and consult our UX researchers to understand the pain points that customers face today. As you champion our customers’ needs, you should think about not only how to fix the papercuts in their experience today, but what it means to drive innovation for them. You will balance all of these customer needs in your head and define a portfolio that spans game-changer projects and quick experiments. You will collaborate with our UX and engineering leads as you drive these projects (define requirements, experimentation strategy, success metrics, etc.) and work with our dedicated tech team. You will be obsess over metrics and data and be relentless about learning their drivers until you have reached an expert understanding, and use that knowledge to respectfully challenge decisions even when doing so may be uncomfortable. You will also define new metrics to be instrumented that correct our blind spots and inform our strategy. We will ensure you have a great onboarding experience where you are set up for success, and in turn we expect you to work independently in a fast paced, ambiguous environment with limited supervision. You will have a fellow PM as well as a strong community of product managers in our broader organization to lean on for peer and principal mentorship. You will also give back to that community in your own way, through leading talks and mentoring on the skills you bring. Within our team, you should care about team culture and contribute to building a strong one for our new team. You should identify process improvements to make us ever nimbler as we obsess over customers.

What you will learn: You should already be an excellent communicator, written and verbal, but we will make you an even better one. On this team, you will hone your skills around A|B testing and build knowledge on security and authentication. Due to the critical role our team plays in owning and innovating on the experience for a key step of every customer's journey, we work closely with teams who are experts in privacy, security, and risk mitigation; we in turn bring the CX expertise. You will drive experiences across all devices (desktop, mobile app, etc.) in all geographies. You will also learn about our broader organization, Consumer Website, which powers and drives innovation of some of the highest trafficked pages on the internet including Amazon's homepage (, Amazon's Shopping Cart, and Amazon's Checkout experience, as well as the site-wide navigation used by millions of customers every day.

Basic Qualifications

· 5+ years product management experience.
· Bachelor’s degree.
· 2+ years experience working with technical teams.
· 2+ years experience building and presenting business cases.

Preferred Qualifications

· MBA, or Masters degree in engineering, business, economics, computer science, or a related field.
· Experience with digital technologies, consumer products, media, and e-commerce.
· Experience defining and designing customer-facing components of e-commerce sites.
· Comfort with and ability to manage through ambiguity.
· Ability to juggle multiple priorities and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strong bias for action.
· Demonstrated ability to identify customer needs, translate them into business and product requirements, and measure success.
· Proven ability to make smart trade-offs on time-to-market versus features and to respond to dynamic markets.
· Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary to meet team goals.
· Excellent communication and persuasion skills; demonstrated success building buy-in for an innovative and bold strategic vision.
· Excellent business judgment and strategic aptitude; the ability to generate ideas and solve problems independently, in a manner consistent with the product vision and Amazon’s core principles.
· Excellent judgement in using hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes.
