Role & Responsibilities  
We looking for a product owner to take responsibility for GitHub@IBM. IBM’s GitHub Enterprise Server cluster is the largest instance of GitHub Enterprise Server in the world, and is part of the core development workflow for more than 70,000 IBMers.  GitHub@IBM has transformed software development at IBM; however there is much more work to be done and much value yet to be unlocked. We are looking for someone to embrace and drive strategic opportunities, including how to enable inner-source and other key development transformation initiatives.

This role involves:
●     Designing and articulating a short-term and long-term strategy for GitHub@IBM. 
●     Being accountable for the overall user experience and financial posture
●     Leveraging data analytics and other sources of user research to understand the variety of GitHub user personas and their needs and the opportunities these represent.
●     Understanding technical limitations and constraints and interrupts that the technical squad is dealing with
●     Managing risks
●     Working with the technical team to align on business goals & strategy
●     Manage the prioritized backlog of stories & epics
●     Macro planning and estimation

●     Managing vendor relationships, ensuring that our vendors understand IBMs needs and challenges, and maintaining a positive partnership with the vendor.

●     Have ability to elicit multiple diverse perspectives, offer constructive criticism, and to commit to a decision
●     Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • 5-7 plus years of industry experience

  • Demonstrated experience in Agile methodologies and principles

  • Demonstrated experience in Design Thinking

  • Minimum 1 year experience in an Agile team

  • Minimum 2 plus years’ experience as a software developer

  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience using GitHub

  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience with DevOps practices (Continuous Integration/Delivery/Monitoring/etc) 

  • Demonstrated experience in security, compliance, and risk management

  • Minimum 1 plus year Project Management experience

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Product Owner, Product Manager, or Offering Manager experience

  • Demonstrated experience with Jupyter notebooks and the Python pandas framework
