The Director of Product Design is responsible for developing world-class user interfaces and leading our product design team. We are looking for someone with a strong design vision who can champion design and design thinking throughout the organization. You are someone with a strategic mindset who is able to inspire and grow a design team and is not afraid to get your hands dirty in the design process when required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Hire, mentor, lead a talented design team in a fast-moving environment
  • Push the boundaries of design beyond the functional to building products that people love to use every single day
  • Elevate and oversee the design practice by building a culture of efficiency, speed, and quality
  • Help define, prioritize and execute a clear UI/UX vision roadmap
  • Establish design processes, suggesting and implementing design standards, tools and methodologies
  • Execute at every stage of the design lifecycle from concept to delivery
  • Be a strategic leader working closely with product management, engineering teams to define, design, prototype and build new products
  • Be a strong advocate for product design throughout the organization
  • Manage communications with various senior stakeholders

Requirements

  • 10+ years of design with 5+ years leading a design team
  • Demonstrated success in creating, launching, scaling and maintaining digital products
  • Strategic design vision - you’re able to make decisions and adapt to a rapidly changing business
  • Excellent interaction design and visual craft skills including some experience with prototyping mobile experiences
  • Proficient with industry standards Apple HIG, Google Material Design, design tools (e.g. Figma, Adobe Suite, Sketch, InVision)
  • Ability to innovate design systems and manage the total customer experience
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple design projects while meeting critical project milestones and deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to bring to life design ideas through storytelling and explaining the “why” to various stakeholders
  • Strong collaboration skills - you’re able to work seamlessly with our product management, engineering, and business teams
  • A passion for design and you’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves when needed
  • Experience coaching a team to perform at their best and helping them grow
  • A strong portfolio that showcases your design vision and problem solving skills
  • Degree in Human Computer interaction or Human Factor is highly desirable
  • Passion for food
