We’re building a movement - an education revolution. We’re building a world where anyone, anywhere can have access to the best education regardless of where they were born. At our core, we believe education is a right, not a privilege. To that end, we’re building a company and a suite of products to lead the charge in transforming access to education. ApplyBoard is an online platform that empowers students around the world to access the best education by connecting international students, recruitment partners, and academic institutions. We simplify the study abroad search, application, and acceptance process. Not only do we help students with their study abroad journey, but we also help academic institutions to find the best students globally. Our goal is to help enable better, more diverse, schools that are enriched with cultures from all over the world.
We are looking for a Product Designer to work on ApplyProof products. ApplyProof is an industry-leading solution that’s powered by the knowledge, resources, and expertise of ApplyBoard. As a stand-alone platform, ApplyProof builds trust in documents for students, institutions, and immigration stakeholders. Created in partnership with colleges, institutions, and universities across Canada, the ApplyProof system enables immigration stakeholders to validate document authenticity by providing access to the digital original held securely by ApplyProof. You’re someone that craves building new products. Better yet, the idea of building something that’s never been done before and something that you know deep down will be a part of changing the world gets your adrenaline rushing. Ultimately, you will help us build products that efficiently bring trust to the international education ecosystem.

What you will be doing:

  • Own a project from end to end, focusing on user experience, user journey, and onboarding.
  • You will define interaction models, user task flows, and UI (user interface) specifications.
  • Propose and always lookout for new ways to improve and grow our product or processes.
  • Collaborate with partners across product and engineering to define, build, and release new products and features.
  • Contribute strategic thinking to product features and roadmap.
  • Create interface prototypes (UI), including wireframes
  • Gather feedback from users, including analyzing different tests (A/B) to verify that this is the best product that can be offered.
  • Work on projects from ideation to execution while participating and sometimes leading various UX initiatives, including designs, user interviews, sketching, user flows, wireframing, and stakeholder reviews.
  • Delivering valuable and high-quality work without sacrificing speed
  • Collaborate with multiple teams.
  • Designing for cross-product, cross-platform features.
  • Improve the design of existing products and evolve the UX experiences through user interface design.

What you bring:

  • 3+ years of professional experience UX/UI design
  • Passion for solving product problems while balancing all aspects of a user experience (strategy, information, interaction design, etc.)
  • A deep understanding of the end-to-end iterative design process, including how to develop and use design research, job stories, journey mapping, content modelling, wire-framing, prototyping, user testing, and high-fidelity visuals to achieve human-centered design solutions
  • Proficiency in interaction design for web applications and mobile applications. Experience collaborating closely with multiple disciplines, including product and engineering
  • Experience with design and collaboration tools such as Adobe XD, Figma, Miro, etc.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates functional designs across desktop and mobile devices
  • Excellent organizational, time and project management skills
