We are looking for a passionate and seasoned product design leader to improve our existing Ads offering, and come up with new strategies. Our goal is to connect listeners to the content they love through promotional touchpoints, while expanding our footprint in the digital audio marketplace, creating best-in-class tools, products and features. 
We seek to craft innovative new promotional experiences for brands and artists alike that connect listeners to the content they love. We want someone who sees this intersection of advertising and content as an exciting problem space. How does advertising enable great free listening experiences finding a balance of what’s good for business with the need to empower and protect our listeners? Together, we’ll look holistically at how we continue bringing people the content they want while making our Free experience smarter, contextually appropriate, and relevant.

What you'll do

  • You will lead a team of product designers and product design managers, which will include both hardworking practitioners and experienced leaders
  • You will lead design, through best-practices, attention to detail, and sometimes unconventional thinking, to ensure impact
  • You will identify and grow leaders within the design team, setting them up for success through mentorship and coaching
  • You will provide context, support and guidance as the team works toward our business objectives — you will inspire, not merely direct
  • You will collaborate closely with your product, insights and tech counterparts to shape a data-informed vision for the user experience of our products
  • You will work with your product and tech counterparts to support a large, cross-functional team of talented designers, product managers, and engineers
  • You will act as the subject matter expert on product design in the Ad platform space, innovating and scaling our tools and eco system from the ground up. It’s a plus if you have also worked with Audio Ad experiences.

Who you are

  • You have 7-10+ years of experience leading design teams through building large scale platforms, ideally in the Ad Tech space. This should include mentoring and leading managers
  • You’re comfortable working in spaces with some ambiguity, and defer to data driven execution and testing
  • You are passionate about design and what it can do for the music, content, and technology industries
  • You’re a fantastic communicator. You have the communication skills to help you work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external partners alike.You thrive when developing great people and great products
  • You have a broad product design background and are well-versed in data-informed product design and development
  • You want to make an impact and take on big complex issues
