The capabilities within the platform will enable the internal and external developers of PagerDuty Platform across the strategic and internal infrastructure services that serve to enable internal teams and stakeholders. (APIs, Webhooks, Auth, etc.) 
Candidates will be familiar with APIs, Authorization and Authentication, Webhooks, and Integration best practices, and will be able to direct and work with delivery teams to incorporate the PagerDuty platforms needs into future roadmaps. The role will work closely with colleagues in product management, product design, security, and product development in teams to modernize and progress our developer platform products. A good candidate will have a record of ownership of software products/services targeted to developer infrastructure and services, and will also ideally have technical product management experience in similar industries.

What You'll Do

  • Develop roadmap and provide prioritization for platform infrastructure enhancements and overall platform development and integration requirements
  • Recommendations for technical enhancements and market opportunitiesIdentify, conceptualize and define roadmap working with security, and product development.
  • Responsible for driving modernization strategies in order to solve business and technology problems for our developer partnersWork with technology partners to propose technical system upgrades or replacements, review and make key decisions based on recommended partner solutions provided by Engineering leads
  • Works with internal business and technology stakeholders to influence
  • Product platform replacement or retirement strategies based on cost of platform upkeep, availability of new technology solutions and cost of servicing (hence impacting profitability).
  • Accountable for the working with product documentation team to create documentation for product changes.
  • Work with all other product teams and other project stakeholders to gather, analyze, identify and define business requirements, scope, issues and solutions
  • Define features and user stories, work with delivery team to groom, plan and schedule work.
  • Lead product demos for internal and external stakeholders on the technical products ownedOwn and Communicate technical changes to the internal and external teams and managements
  • Works with finance and internal stakeholders to plan annual budget to support roadmap and renewal of existing licenses and contracts.
  • Possess strong problem solving and decision making skills, with attentions to both functional and technical details and manage multiple tasks simultaneously as required.
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams sometimes across timezones to run business as usual

What You'll Need

  • 5+ year’s of experience in Technical Product Management or 2+ years of technical product management combined with 3+ years of technical development experience (DevOps domain experience will be given preference)
  • Strong skills and demonstrated experience in core platform development methodologies such as SaaS, entity frameworks, API, Authorization and Authentication, webhooks, notifications (sms, voice and push), Cloud Technologies (AWS), Enterprise Technical Requirements (on-prem)
  • Experience with Agile software methods or a desire to learn them; we don’t throw PRDs over the fence and hope for the best.
  • You strongly empathize with customers. You can sit down with users and understand the ways that your product is not satisfying their needs.
  • You can lead without giving orders and argue a viewpoint persuasively.
  • You can write, speak, and think about complicated and highly technical problems with uncommon lucidity.Prior experience in engineering is highly preferred.
  • Experience working with project management software application analysis, design or implementation with a history of successful execution of plans.
  • Proven record of product management accomplishments and initiatives with demonstrated success in product build and releasing to market.

  • Education/Certifications
  • Bachelor's in Engineering, Computer Science, technical related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience working with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure
  • Development experience 
  • Knowledge of Security and Compliance requirements for SaaS solutions
