The Netflix member product team is responsible for innovating and evolving how our members discover and enjoy our service around the world. Netflix is looking for a product management (PM) leader to help define the future of entertainment discovery for a rapidly growing audience of over two hundred million consumers globally.
Our Messaging program fosters an important and highly appreciated connection with our members, helping them to find the next story that they’ll love. Because messages can reach members outside of the Netflix app experience, this team has a unique influence on whether Netflix members choose us for entertainment, and thus get more value from their membership. This role will have broad, strategic responsibility for messaging in the following capacities:
• Defining and prioritizing features and capabilities of the messaging system to support scale and flexibility. The Messaging PM will determine the channels and experiences that we should support to connect with consumers - both members and non-members. They will partner closely with the messaging algorithms PM and engineering team who optimize which messages are sent and when.• Prioritizing among, and advising, other product managers who have requests for the Messaging team. For example, if the Kids product manager wants to send a new type of message to parents. • Working closely with design, consumer insights, and our data science analytics team to innovate on new messages and message programs that are valuable to members. In addition to outbound messages, the Messaging team and PM also innovate on our in-app messaging experiences.
We are data-driven and want someone who is comfortable using data to inform priorities and assess A/B test results. At the same time, we are looking for a product leader who demonstrates strategic thinking, customer empathy, and solid instincts. In this role, it’s your job to inspire and influence the team by articulating and continuously reinforcing an ambitious yet realistic product vision.

In this role, you will:

  • Take product concepts from idea through validation, shipping, measurement, and iteration.
  • Work as part of an autonomous agile team along with designers, engineers, consumer insights, and data science & analytics colleagues to deliver outstanding products to our customers. 
  • Author strategy documents (memos) and presentations, and represent your team’s work to senior executives and content partners.
  • Work with your data science and analytics counterparts to build business cases and interpret results from a/b tests.
  • Work with your consumer insights and experience design partners to deeply understand and socialize the evolving needs of our customers, content team, and partners.

Required Qualifications:

  • Several years as a technology product manager with agile teams, with responsibility across a portfolio of products or services 
  • Mass-market consumer web and/or mobile experience
  • Solid understanding of web and mobile technologies and user experience design patterns, and the innate curiosity and desire to learn more. 
  • Understanding of quantitative research methods such as AB testing and analytics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a product manager for mass market consumer messaging experiences
  • Experience in engineering, technical program management, product design, or analytics
  • Experience with entertainment content production or distribution
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills
