Principal Product Designer at Checkout.com
As Checkout.com continues to build the next generation of online payment solutions and financial products, the role of Design within the organization is becoming more critical with each day.  As a Lead Product Designer on the Internal Tools area, you will lead Design help define the next generation of an effective and highly usable internal platform that lets a global and elastic team execute and improve to achieve its highest performance and support our growth. Alongside your peers, you will define ways of working, culture, and optimize processes across the entire Design organization.  You are a master of your craft, and you will turn insights from real users into simple, beautiful, and well-designed products supporting both user needs and business goals. You will be embedded within a cross-functional team and collaborate with Product and Engineer Leads while having a holistic approach on the experience, from discovery to delivery. You will mentor other product designers while supporting multiple initiatives across the entire Design organization.  You will be a Leader across the entire design organization and you will drive and push for excellence, raising the bar for the entire team.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Lead the design across an entire product area, defining a vision and a strategy that aligns user needs with business goals.
  • Be responsible for the overall quality of design work produced for that product area, from discovery to delivery.
  • Drive excellence and raise the bar across the entire design organization, both in terms of design artifacts, overall experience, and internal processes and ways of working.
  • Be a champion of user needs across the entire organization, leading and planning user research, as well as sharing insights with every department within the company.
  • Turn complex flows and interactions into simple and beautiful solutions that truly solves customer needs and accomplishes business goals.
  • Be a strategic partner, working alongside Product and Engineering to deliver the best experience possible.
  • Act as Leader within the Design Team, and help build and define a mature design organization.
  • Mentor other Designers through all parts of the design process.
  • Support the DesignOps Team and the Design Systems initiative to make sure there is a consistent and aligned experience in every product.
