Spotify is a global community of over 250 million music fans and artists, and now podcasters. It’s always been our mission to make audio more accessible, and create a new and wonderful way for creators and fans to connect with each other.
The Podcaster Mission is the team within Spotify responsible for building the best tools for podcast creators. We have two platforms that help us do that: Anchor (the platform that allows you to create, distribute, monetize, and grow a podcast, all for free) and Spotify for Podcasters (the platform that makes it easy to understand and engage with your listeners on Spotify).

About the team
We are a group passionate about the future of audio and podcasting, laser-focused on re-positioning Spotify from being a traditional 1-way broadcaster, to become a true interactive marketplace between 50 million creators and a billion users. Our main focus is delivering the best experience for all audio creators. 

What you'll do:

  • Lead design projects across the entire product lifecycle and multiple product launches. You set the vision for the user experience and create the space for others to collaborate
  • Be autonomous. You’ll take full ownership of your work, and you take responsibility for every last detail, every step of the way. You have the ability to align multiple stakeholders and consider all feedback critically
  • Rapidly produce multiple concepts and prototypes; knowing when to apply pixel-perfect attention to detail, and when to make low-Fi sketches and prototypes
  • Let audio creators lead the way. Our users inform us where we are going. Our teams focus on listening to users and letting their needs guide us to the best solutions. It’s important for us to know we are solving for real people and not just the loudest voice in the room
  • Help craft the culture of our growing design team that’s central to the podcasting strategy at Spotify

Who you are:

  • 3-5 years of relevant design experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Have a sense of humor & no ego
  • You have strong opinions, loosely held
  • Deeply passionate about democratizing audio by crafting world-class audio creator tooling. This is just a bonus, but if you’ve worked with audio in the past, whether professionally or as a personal project (podcasting, music discovery/recommendations, etc), we’ll be even more excited to add you to our team
  • You are an incredible designer with outstanding design chops. You’ve shipped many products over the years, and understand what it takes to design awesome creator-facing tooling
  • Someone who can dedicatedly prioritize and execute. You are comfortable optimizing for speed and knowing when we should sweat the details vs what we can fix forward
  • Someone with a people-focused design mentality. Even though you have incredible chops, you are constantly looking to hone your design instinct through user feedback. Whether through hands-on user research or by designing options for an A/B test
  • You are all about execution. You have a proven track record to efficiently execute and quickly adapt without a lot of direct supervision, and if you ever have downtime (ha!), it’s easy for you to determine how to fill it with something useful.

  • We are a distributed workforce enabling our band members to find a work mode that is best for them!
  • Where in the world? For this role, it can be within the Americas region in which we have a work location and is within working hours
  • Working hours? We operate within the Eastern Standard time zone for collaboration and ask that all be located that time zone
