Amazon’s Retail Consumer Electronics (CEUX) Team is seeking a talented, passionate, and accomplished senior user experience designer to lead our efforts to make Amazon the best place to shop for, configure, and purchase a variety of tech products.

A day in the life
Working with cross-functional and cross-organizational partners, senior designers define, prototype, and evolve the customer journeys, interaction flows, UX architecture, and design patterns for multiple (1-3 at any given time) end—to-end retail experiences. They embrace the challenges of designing for a highly complex and rapidly changing space, while tirelessly advocating on behalf of our customers.

From home entertainment and gaming, to wireless phones, computers, tablets, audio, software, and accessories, CEUX is driven by our mission to make our shopping experience as frictionless and delightful as possible. A group of skilled generalists, we look and think across the entire shopping journey, from browse and search through detail page, cart, checkout, and post-purchase. We experiment with new technology like AI and machine learning to think big about new ways to solve customer problems, thinking globally and working with other teams around the world on global features.

The CEUX team also generates new ideas and acts with autonomy. See a big customer problem? Run a workshop, do some research, prototype a solution. If you want to take it farther, we’ve got a process to turn it into a real project at Amazon, and our team has experience turning those big ideas into reality.

Job responsibilities
· Do good UX work, empowered by sound process; run workshops, conduct research, architect some information, wireframe & design, and test again.
· Obsess over customers. Amazon strives to be Earth’s most customer-centric company. UX is the best mechanism for aligning our customers’ needs with things Amazon can do to better serve them.
· Grow and network, however that looks for you. Take courses, attend conferences, speak at conferences; read articles, write articles. Do what makes you tick, and then bring your learning back to the rest of the team.
· Own your work. Present design work to UX, Product, and Engineering teams, as well as stakeholders and executive leadership.
· Collaborate and mentor, both within our team and with the rest of Amazon. Get and give critique. Learn from the best of the best and use it to teach others.

Basic Qualifications


· Embody Amazon’s Leadership Principles
· A bachelor’s degree in interaction design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or related UX degree is ideal
· 7+ years of professional work experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar UX-related role, on enterprise products
· An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating a range of process & artifacts developed in creating a variety of visual and/or functional solutions
· Command of design software including Sketch, Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, Invision, Axure, or similar

Preferred Qualifications

· Affinity and experience with accessible design solutions that embody best practices, are focused on inclusivity, and empower all Amazon customers.
· Strong time management skills and the ability to provide design leadership-level work independently
· Experience with global design systems and collaboration
· Demonstrated history of acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) is a big plus
· Proven ability to both deliver a bold vision and iterate quickly on concepts, with experience producing prototypes and high-fidelity wireframes
· Deep experience collaborating with and influencing senior-level product managers, design leadership, and engineering leadership on best design solutions using data as a rationale for decisions
· Solid written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present a strong rationale for design decisions
· Ability to scope design initiatives accurately and prioritize work items appropriately
