Percona believes in providing the community and our customer base with outstanding open-source database software and solutions.  As a Subscription Services Product Manager for Percona you will own the strategy for Percona’s Subscription Service products.  You will be responsible for building and refining our solutions to ensure they meet our customers’ needs and expectations both now and in the future.   Your role is critical to drive new features, tools, and solutions that are innovative and disrupt the current database market.  You will connect with the MySQL, MongoDB and PostgreSQL Communities and help determine where the community is moving and how we can help them get there.

This is a remote role that can be based anywhere in the Americas or Europe.

What You Will Do

  • Contribute to the definition of the Subscription Services product vision and strategy
  • Define and own the Subscription Services roadmap
  • Design new Subscription Services products & features and enhance existing Services products
  • Ensure the successful launch of new Subscription Services products
  • Own the implementation of new product launch (education, pricing/SKU updates, etc)
  • Be accountable for the growth and adoption of assigned Subscription Services products
  • Own the complete Subscription Services product lifecycle from incubation through to sunsetting
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships with primary customer contacts
  • Act as a sales support resource and evangelist for opportunities related to the nominated Services products
  • Work with Product/Engineering to integrate the services and software experience
  • Work with internal IT and Admin teams to ensure supporting systems (ex: Salesforce, ServiceNow) represent current Services offerings and are prepared for changes or new additions
  • Identify sales opportunities and provide feedback to Sales team

Your Experience

  • 3+ years product management, project management or product marketing experience, with a strong preference for working with technical services products (subscriptions)
  • Experience in the open source space; experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL or MongoDB and related technologies highly preferred
  • A customer first focus is crucial; it's not about the dollars, it's about seeing our customers as partners
  • Strong public speaking skills and a desire to evangelize
  • Communicates clearly and professionally to convey confidence even when under pressure
  • Expert level English speaking/writing skills

  • Strong business acumen - understands the business side of a growing services and software company
  • A natural born teacher, with a passion for educating their team, the company, and customers 
  • Deep passion for metrics and data and how to take the data and turn it into actionable activities
  • Deeply process oriented; able to think through and communicate out new processes 
  • Experience and desire to be part of an open culture 
  • Experience in working with a geographically distributed remote team 
  • A willingness to take ownership of the process and execute with excellence
