We are looking for a Lead Design Program Manager to join our Global Design Operations team within the Design Platform team.
As the Lead UX Program Manager for Design Systems & Productivity Tooling, you will be responsible for delivering operational excellence —helping to identify, build and maintain a robust and scalable ecosystem of systems and customized tooling for a rapidly growing design organization.
You’ll establish smooth ways of working between the various teams that contribute to our design systems and amplify the effectiveness of this complex, cross-disciplinary program. You will also be responsible for helping to identify workflow productivity needs and establishing standard methodologies in how we use our tools and expand the toolset to keep us innovating.

Expectations:

  • You have a deep understanding of the design process and extensive experience driving projects or programs focused on design systems, customized tooling, or improving the overall quality and consistency of product design outputs.
  • You have experience running large, cross-functional programs working with both design and engineering teams and demonstrated critical thinking, and thought leadership.
  • You can identify and drive initiatives forward that have multiple leadership-level stakeholders and many moving parts.
  • You act as a liaison design, tech, and product, connecting all groups and making sure inter-dependencies are understood and planned for effectively.

Accountable For:

  • Helping to define the future of Spotify’s design systems and tooling that will enable our teams to deliver exceptional and inclusive user experiences.
  • Driving the overall program roadmap: helping teams define scope, milestones, and schedules, and coordinate release planning.
  • Drive program communication and proactively connect with cross-functional partners to ensure they are brought into the process.
  • Managing and tracking OKRs to monitor the success of the program and find creative ways to help product teams connect with their objectives.
  • Staying aligned with the morale of the team, gleaning early signals for when a project or team is headed off track, and quickly taking action to course correct before an issue arises.
  • Continuously evolving processes and tools required changes to make sure our product teams can deliver measurable value unimpeded by unnecessary complexity in their workflow.
  • Enabling continuous improvement, ensuring findings are gathered, shared, and integrated.
  • Supporting the leadership team with effective team communication, proactive problem solving, information distribution.

  • An ability to capture and synthesize information, and can confidently and coherently communicate across disciplines and levels across the organization.
  • A great communicator and bring clarity to the projects you take on: defining goals and success measures, freeing up lines of communication, identifying and removing blockers, encouraging collaboration, and, most importantly, continuously looking for ways to improve how we work.
  • Flexible and uses sound judgment to apply the model and approach that best fit with the context of the program.
  • The glue of a happy, productive, cross-functional team.

  • We are a distributed workforce enabling our band members to find a work mode that is best for them!
  • Where in the world? For this role, it can be within the Americas or EMEA region in which we have a work location and is within working hours. 
  • Working hours? We operate within the Eastern Standard and Central European time zone for collaboration and ask that all be located in that time zone.
